NOT READY FOR SERVICE
Not Ready for Service key art: the mentor and the player immunician against a dark cellular field, with the title and the line 'an immune system strategy game'

Case file 01 · Coming soon on Steam

A turn-based tactics game on a hex grid, with no initiative order.

In 2239, you're an immunician piloting microbots inside a human body. Form a squad from dozens of units, fight pathogens, save lives, advance your career, and understand the difference between self and other.

_Fight to preserve life

You are not protecting a health bar. You are protecting the Cells keeping a person alive.

Every fight takes place in a piece of living tissue, generated for the organ it belongs to. Deploy your squad, act in any order you like, and hold the Cells against the pathogens coming through. Lose the fight and the tissue is lost with it.

Two pathogens with their predicted paths drawn in red toward the Cells they will attack

_Intent

See the whole plan before it happens

AEGIS predicts every pathogen's intent with 100% accuracy: the path, the action, and what it will cost you. Perfect information is your starting point.

A hazard placed on a pathogen's path, with its tooltip: Attack 3 on single, triggered when an enemy enters its tile

_Paths

Then exploit it

Drop a hazard, a mine or a trap on an enemy's path, lure them in, and let them crumble under your tactical decisions.

A unit next to a Cytokine tile whose tooltip reads: multiplies outgoing attacks by 2.0 for one turn, applied to the first unit that collects it

_Cytokines

Tilt the odds

Each patient comes with a set of Cytokines: power-ups that affect whoever picks them up, you or the pathogen. Reach the tile first.

Adaptation and tissues

The adaptation panel offering three upgrades, each with a gain and a cost

_Adaptation

Evolve your units during each combat

Pathogens drop genetic fragments when eliminated. Any unit that collects them can upgrade an action of its choosing. Every adaptation has a cost; find the synergies across your squad.

Three tissue boards side by side: skin, kidney and muscle

_Tissues

Skin, kidney, muscle

Different pathogens prefer different tissue. Three procedurally generated tissue types, each with its own layout, each a different tactical problem.

The patient map: a network of tissue nodes, two of them infected with countdown timers

_Across the patient

The clock only moves when you move.

Zoom out and the patient is a map of nodes. Every node is a tissue. The infected ones carry a timer, and when it runs out the infection spreads to its neighbours. The only way to clear a node is to go in and fight for it. Win or lose, coming back out costs a tick of every timer on the map.

  • Scout a locked node before you commit.
  • Quarantine a zone so it cannot spread.
  • Immunize the healthy tissue next to it.
  • Cauterize a tissue outright, and accept what that costs the patient.
